Did you know that according to Chinese culture, every year has a sign? That’s right. It’s called the Chinese zodiac and 2024 is the year of the Dragon. Let’s take a closer look at this tradition and what 2024 holds in store.

The Origin

The Chinese zodiac is a repeating cycle of 12 years. Each year is represented by a different animal. The tradition dates back to the Qin dynasty around 2000 years ago. According to folklore, the Jade Emperor called for a race to select 12 animals to be his guards. The order in which they finished the race would determine their position in the zodiac.

The Dragon

The Dragon is the fifth animal in the cycle and the only mythical creature in the Chinese zodiac, which already sets it apart as a special and mystical symbol. In Chinese culture, the Dragon represents strength, luck, and health. In fact, some believe it’s the most powerful sign.

As we enter 2024, the Year of the Dragon promises a time of innovation, growth, and transformation. In sum, it’s believed to be an auspicious year for new ventures, taking bold steps and embracing change. So cheers to the new year!
