We can always count on Coachella to bring some epic performances our way, and this year’s festival certainly delivered. From Green Day to Lady Gaga, some of the world’s leading artists rocked our world with their performances this year, and here are five of the very best.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga’s Coachella set took us through some of the defining moments of her career, and did a great job setting the stage for her upcoming tour The Mayhem Ball.

Clairo

Clairo was one of the indie artists who impressed the Coachella audience with their raw talent, and her set took us through some of her biggest lo-fi hits.

Charli XCX

Charli XCX had the time of her life performing at Coachella – and she didn’t have to do it all alone. Some of her A-list collaborators joined her over the course of two weeks, ranging from Lorde and Billie Eilish to Troye Sivan and Addison Rae.

Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion’s Coachella set was also one star-studded affair, and it featured guest performances from Queen Latifah, Ciara, and Victoria Monét.

Green Day

Punk-rock legends Green Day made quite a statement with their Coachella performance, giving us the most cathartic and rebellious performance of this year’s festival.

We can always count on Lady Gaga to rock our world with her new music, and she did it again with Mayhem. She created a lot of buzz with her latest album, and here are five songs from this record that immediately became a viral sensation.

“Abracadabra”

As the viral memes suggest, “Abracadabra” saw Gaga reheat her own nachos and fully embrace the dance-pop sound and theatrical choreography of her earlier musical eras.

“Disease”

“Disease” didn’t get the attention it deserved when it was initially released as the lead single from Mayhem, but it perfectly captures the experimental nature and themes of Gaga’s latest LP.

“Garden of Eden”

Mayhem draws inspiration from many of Gaga’s early albums, from The Fame to Artpop, and no song encapsulates this better than the dance-pop anthem “Garden of Eden”.

“Perfect Celebrity”

“Paparazzi”-coded “Perfect Celebrity” is one of the standouts of Mayhem, and it sees Gaga exploring the dark side of fame while embracing the elements of grunge of trip hop.

“Die with a Smile” ft. Bruno Mars

The Bruno Mars duet “Die with a Smile” is one of Gaga’s biggest hits in recent memory, but her decision to include it on Mayhem left many of her fans puzzled since it doesn’t exactly match its style.

After months of anticipation, the Super Bowl returned to Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday night – and it was worth the wait! This year’s Big Game has given us more epic moments than we can count, and here are three that stole the show.

Philadelphia Eagles’ Epic Win

The Kansas City Chiefs’ quest for a historic three-peat came to an end after they crashed and burned against the Philadelphia Eagles. Superstar quarterback Jalen Hurts helped his side score an epic 40-22 victory and won the Super Bowl MVP title after leading the Eagles to their second NFL championship win.

Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show

Kendrick Lamar had the time of his life headlining the halftime show, giving us everything from surprise guests to a homage to the West Coast hip-hop. He also took a dig at Drake with another rendition of the diss track “Not Like Us” that had the entire stadium singing along while the tennis legend Serena Williams danced in the background.

A-List Turnout

The seats at the Super Bowl were filled with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, but Taylor Swift’s appearance ended up stirring the most commotion. She became an instant meme after reacting to being booed at the Super Bowl by a largely pro-Eagles crowd while supporting her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

2024 has been another epic year for music, and all our favorite artists have been working overtime to grace us with amazing new songs. This year has given us more smash hits than we can count, but here are five that definitely defined the past twelve months.

Shaboozey – “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”

Most people haven’t even heard of Shaboozey before 2024, but that didn’t stop him from scoring the longest-running No. 1 single by a solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his breakout hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”.

Beyoncé – “Texas Hold ‘Em”

2024 has been a great year for country music, and Beyoncé embraced this genre with her latest album Cowboy Carter after setting the stage for its rollout with the catchy lead single “Texas Hold ‘Em”.

Kendrick Lamar – “Not Like Us”

The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar was one of the defining hip-hop moments of 2024. Both rappers dropped several songs as a part of their smear campaign, but none created more buzz than Lamar’s “Not Like Us”.

Chappell Roan – “Good Luck, Babe!”

Chappell Roan is the biggest breakout star of 2024, and the success of her breakout hit “Good Luck, Babe!” inspired many people to explore more of her work and discover her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.

Sabrina Carpenter – “Espresso”

Sabrina Carpenter’s latest album Short n’ Sweet has given us several hit songs, but it was “Espresso” that started it all. Its catchy beat and silly lyrics helped it become a viral sensation and it quickly grew into the undisputed song of the summer.

Beyoncé will come into the next Grammy Awards with 11 nods, after setting a new record for most nominations at this ceremony, but other artists weren’t as lucky. This year’s list of nominees brought many snubs and surprises our way, and here are five that created the biggest commotion online.

Snub: Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande is coming into this year’s Grammys with three nods, including her sixth consecutive nomination for the best pop vocal album with Eternal Sunshine, but she failed to break into the main categories.

Surprise: The Beatles

The Beatles haven’t been around for decades, but that didn’t stop them from scoring a record of the year nod at the Grammys with their AI-assisted song “Now and Then”, which utilized artificial intelligence to extract John Lennon’s voice from an old demo.

Snub: Dua Lipa

After winning the best pop vocal album with Future Nostalgia, Dua Lipa failed to make a splash with its follow-up Radical Optimism, and she didn’t even break into the pop categories.

Surprise: Album of the Year

The coveted album of the year category brought several surprises our way, with New Blue Sun by André 3000 and Djesse Vol. 4 by Jacob Collier shockingly making the cut.

Snub: Jack Antonoff

Despite producing two of this year’s AOTY contenders—Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department and Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet —Jack Antonoff failed to secure a nod for the producer of the year, the award he won for the past three years.

Liam Payne, who became a global phenomenon as a member of One Direction, died this past week after falling from a balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Payne built a pretty impressive career before passing away at the age of 31, and we’re here to help you reflect on some of his defining moments.

The X Factor

Payne was just 14 when he auditioned for The X Factor for the first time in 2008 and blew the judges away with a powerful rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon”. He was eventually eliminated, but the judge Simon Cowell encouraged him to return two years later.

He made it further the second time around and advanced in a “Group” category after forming a boy band alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik.

One Direction

Following their appearance on The X Factor, One Direction became a true sensation and they signed a record deal with Cowell’s Syco Entertainment. With 70 million records sold worldwide across five studio albums, they went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands in history before parting ways in 2016.

Solo Career

Following One Direction’s hiatus, Payne started working on solo music and released his debut solo single “Strip That Down” ft. Quavo just a year later. It served as an interlude for his debut solo album LP1 from 2019, which also featured collaborations with Rita Ora, Zedd, and J Balvin.

Sabrina Carpenter – “Espresso”

Despite not hitting No. 1, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” is definitely one of the songs that will define 2024, and its catchy beat and silly lyrics made it the ultimate summer hit.

Chappell Roan – “Good Luck, Babe!”

Chappell Roan’s rise to the top has been a joy to watch, and she wouldn’t be where she is today without her heartbreaking breakout hit “Good Luck, Babe!”.

Billie Eilish – “Birds of a Feather”

Another song that perfectly blends tenderness and loss, Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” is a true organic hit, and it could easily eclipse the popularity of all the other songs from her latest album Hit Me Hard and Soft.

Charli XCX – “Girl, So Confusing” ft. Lorde

Star-studded music videos have been around for a while, but they are going stronger than ever this spring, and here are a few that got everyone talking.

Sabrina Carpenter – “Please Please Please”

This past week has given us several amazing music videos, starting with Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please”. She served major Bonnie and Clyde vibes in this epic visual alongside her boyfriend Barry Keoghan, the star of Saltburn and The Banshees of Inisherin.

Ariana Grande – “The Boy Is Mine”

Ariana Grande’s latest music video sees her transforming into Catwoman and stalking Penn Badgley. It also features a cameo from Brandy and Monica, whose hit song “The Boy is Mine” inspired her own.

Billie Eilish – “Chihiro”

Billie Eilish’s self-directed video for “Chihiro” is less elaborate than the previous two, but that didn’t stop Paper Towns star Nat Wolff from signing up to play her love interest.

Charli XCX – “360”

Charli XCX made quite a splash with her new album Brat and created a lot of hype for this record with the “360” video starring some of the internet’s biggest “it girls”, including Chloë Sevigny, Julia Fox, Rachel Sennott, and Emma Chamberlain.

This year’s Eurovision Song Contest was one wild ride, and it’s given us some pretty amazing songs along the way. Some of them are blowing up on streaming services as we speak, and we’re bringing you four of the most memorable acts.

Nemo – “The Code”

Voting was more tense than ever this year, but the Swiss contestant Nemo eventually came out victorious. They’re the first non-binary winner of Eurovision, and their song “The Code” sees them breaking the binary view of gender and embracing their true identity.

Baby Lasagna – “Rim Tim Tagi Dim”

Baby Lasagna’s “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” entered the contest as the bookie’s favorite, and finished second after winning the public vote. It sees the Croatian singer offering a humorous take on a pretty serious subject – the mass exodus of young people leaving his home country in search of a better life.

Joost Klein – “Europapa”

Despite being disqualified ahead of the grand final, Joost Klein is making waves on Spotify with his song “Europapa”. It initially entered the contest as one of the favorites, and it sees the Dutch singer paying homage to his late parents.

Bambie Thug – “Doomsday Blue”

Ireland’s representative Bambie Thug stirred a lot of commotion with their song “Doomsday Blue”. They bewitched the audience with this genre-bending track, which falls under the genre that they describe as “ouija-pop”.

There’s nothing quite like watching a music video of your favorite artist and seeing a bunch of Hollywood A-listers suddenly pop up on the screen.
