If you only use Google Maps to help you navigate your way to your destination, you’ll be delighted to know that the app is about to become even more useful. Google has announced that from this summer, the app will offer activities, events, and dining establishments that have been curated especially for you.

All you will need to do is click on the newly redesigned “Explore” tab, and then Google Maps will make recommendations for nearby places that it thinks you will like. It operates by combining data produced by certain algorithms, publishers, and local experts to produce lists curated especially for you.

There are also various places on which you can long click to allow you to make shareable shortlists for your family and friends to vote on.

The app allows you to cross off places from your curated list when you’re done. That way you’ll know just how close you are to completing your ultimate pizza crawl of New York City.
