It’s hard to remember the last time a celebrity memoir created as much buzz as Britney Spears’ The Woman in Me. With over a million copies sold in a single week, this book is certainly a smash hit, and the singer’s fans are wondering if she’s already writing a follow-up.
The Woman in Me hit the shelves on October 24, 2023, and some parts of the book made the rounds online before it even came out. The singer’s fans couldn’t wait to get their own copy and learn more about the journey she embarked on in the past four decades. It wasn’t a shocker to see Spears’ memoir become an overnight bestseller, with 1.1 million copies sold in the United States alone during its first week.
Rumors about a potential sequel to The Woman in Me started circling around after Spears shared a post reading, “Humor is the cure to everything !!! Play on !!! Volume 2 will be released next year … get ready !!!”
She has since deleted the post, casting a shadow of doubt on a potential sequel. It’s also unclear what exactly the second volume would cover, but Spears certainly has many more stories to tell. Her memoir doesn’t cover her recent divorce from Sam Asghari and she refused to make changes to the book following their split.
