Plant-Based Food Will Be Going Strong Into 2021

Over the past few years, we’ve seen more and more people switch to a plant-based diet. Plant-based diets aren’t totally vegan or vegetarian, but they consist of foods mostly derived from plants with little to no animal products. In 2021, plant-based food will continue to be popular and we expect the diet to take off even more. These are the trends to look out for next year.

Plant-Based Beverages

In regards to milk alternatives, there is soy, almond, oat, hemp, and pistachio milk which are super popular. But the most popular has to be oat milk, as it’s a good substitute for those with soy or nut allergies.

Grain-Free Foods

Instead of eating flour-filled foods, people are turning to pastas, flours, and snacks made from nuts, veggies, and legumes. Cauliflower and chickpea pizza is especially trendy.

Meatless Burgers

Probably the plant-based food that’s been most in the headlines this year is meatless burgers. Veggie burgers no longer taste of just veggies and many people can’t even tell the difference between Beyond Burgers and regular ones. In fact, many restaurants have added meatless burgers to their menus.
