We’ve waited 25 years for a sequel to Space Jam and this weekend we finally got one. Space Jam: A New Legacy starring LeBron James, Don Cheadle, and Zendaya follows a fictionalized James who teams up with Looney Tunes character for a basketball game to save his son from an evil AI. The film has tons of pop culture references in it and here were some of our favorites. Spoiler Alert!

The DC Animated Universe

While he’s trying to recruit Superman for his team, LeBron and Bugs Bunny stumble upon Daffy Duck and Porky Pig staging a runaway train in Metropolis. Here we catch a glimpse of Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane, Supergirl, and Alfred. The train runs through Metropolis, Gotham, and Atlantis just before Superman is able to stip it before it runs into an orphanage. The rest of the Justice League looks less than thrilled.

Rick and Morty

While Lebron and the Looney Tunes are world-hopping, the Tasmanian devil slams into the ship’s windshield, and in true Rick and Morty fashion, they tell LeBron that Tas is “your problem” now and they argue about how an experience that went bad created Tas.

The Matrix

The film does a scene-for-scene recreation of The Matrix opening with Granny stepping in for Trinity. We see Granny with some impressive martial arts skills and Speedy Gonzales doing his best Neo impersonation and joining Granny to duplicate the “bullet time” move.
