Bradley Cooper’s latest film chronicles the life of the famed composer Leonard Bernstein, and it became available on Netflix after a short theatrical run.

The Holdovers chronicles the journey of a cranky teacher forced to stay on campus with a troubled student and a grieving cook over the holiday break, and you can watch it on Peacock.

Oppenheimer (Peacock)

The Toronto International Film Festival is one of the fall’s most anticipated film festivals, and this year’s edition certainly lived up to the hype. We’re bringing you five films that made quite a splash after having their world premieres in Toronto this month.

American Fiction

American Fiction was honored with the festival’s People’s Choice Award, and it won over the audience in Toronto with the satirical tale that centers on Thelonious “Monk” Ellison, a writer forced to re-examine the terms of his integrity.

The Boy and the Heron

The Boy and the Heron was released in Japan this summer, but it had its international premiere in Toronto and reunited us with the master of Japanese animation, Hayao Miyazaki.

Dumb Money

Based on a true story that took the world by storm, Dumb Money centers on a rag-tag Reddit investor who flipped the script on Wall Street and turned his Game Stop shares into a fortune.

Lee

Led by Kate Winslet, this biopic centers on Lee Miller, who left her career as a fashion and fine art photographer to become a war photographer for Vogue during World War II.

Quiz Lady

One of the most hilarious movies to premiere in Toronto, Quiz Lady stars Sandra Oh and Awkwafina as two estranged sisters coming up with an elaborate ploy to pay off their mother’s gambling debts.
