In an attempt to challenge YouTube and give its users an affordable way to stream the latest hits, Apple Music TV announced the launch of a 24-7 music video channel that you can use free of charge.

Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s global head of editorial and content, described this innovation as “a great way for music lovers to see big, contemporary hits in an easy-to-consume, lean-back way.” The newly-launched channel can be accessed in the browse tabs of the Apple Music and Apple TV apps, and it’s currently only available in the U.S.

The channel was launched on October 19th, with a countdown of the top 100 most streamed music videos in the U.S. since Apple Music’s launch in 2015. This innovation is seen as Apple’s attempt to challenge YouTube, but the nature of the channel is more reminiscent of the early days of MTV.

Apple Music TV isn’t only here to stream music videos. It will also serve as a platform for new music premieres, starting with Joji’s “777” and SAINt JHN’s “Gorgeous”. Apple Music’s original content, including concert films and interviews, will also be streamed on this channel.
