The hacked bob is the low-maintenance, messy alternative to a blunt bob. Rather than going over your hair every morning with flat irons, the hacked bob requires a quick comb-through and a little hair product. It’s the perfect cut for grown-out hair that is desperate for a change-up.
“A lot of people have been requesting bobs that are blunter and chunkier,” top hairstylist Luke Hersheson told Glamour. “They feel a bit more rebellious and casual like they’ve been hacked with a knife. It’s that balance between not being a meticulously neat Sassoon bob, and something a bit messier.”
He adds” “The answer? The hacked bob. It hangs like a ledge, only not too perfect. It feels more undone.”
The whole idea of the hacked bob is that it looks effortless. Layers are chopped in to create a fuller, voluminous look with an “I woke up like this” flavor.
