]]>After teasing us with vague promises that the eighth and final season of hit TV series Game of Thrones, HBO have finally given us some specifics.
Although they still have not specified the exact date, they have confirmed that season 8 will air in “April 2019.” They dropped the news at the end of a dramatic teaser which you can watch below:
Every battle.
Every betrayal.
Every risk.
Every fight.
Every sacrifice.
Every death.

The teaser does not show any new clips but flashed through some of the big moments of conflict from the show so far, leading up to the final moment where they dropped the release date. These moments collectively should similarly come together in Season 8 as the story draws to its natural conclusion.
If you’re already getting the post GoT blues, don’t forget that there are several spin-off series on the way. HBO are planning multiple projects set in the same universe. Casting is currently underway for a prequel penned by Jane Goldman, which takes place thousands of years before the events in Game of Thrones.
