We know that we’re still a couple of months away from the holiday season, but we like to be prepared for when December hits because it’s the most hectic time of the year. Part of the excitement of the holidays is wrapping presents, but have you ever stopped to think about the environmental impact that gift wrapping has? Gift wrapping can’t actually be recycled due to the dyes and shiny elements and tons of it ends up in landfills each year.

Luckily, there are solutions for being eco-friendly while still wrapping nice presents and one way is Furoshiki wraps—also known as fabric gift wrap. Furoshiki wraps have been used in Japan for centuries and they’re colorful pieces of fabric that are tied around a gift and they can be reused again.

There are tons of budget-friendly options and they retail for around $15, which seems like a lot, but they can be reused over and over again. It may be a lot of money to spend compared to a $5 roll of wrapping paper, but you’ll also be helping the environment and giving your friends or family members one-of-a-kind wrapping that they can feel good about. It’s a win-win!
