On the heels of the Emmys, the next award show of the season is already making news. The 66th annual Grammy Awards, set to light up the Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles on February 4th, just announced an electrifying lineup of performances: Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, and Olivia Rodrigo.

Hosted by the charming and witty Trevor Noah, the event is often dubbed “Music’s Biggest Night.” You’ll be able to watch the show live on CBS or stream on Paramount+.

Billie Eilish, a seven-time Grammy winner and LA native, will no doubt captivate audiences. Her song “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie movie soundtrack has earned her five nominations this year. She’s also in the running for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Never Felt So Alone” with Labrinth.

Dua Lipa, with three Grammy wins to her name, is nominated for Song Of The Year and Best Song Written For Visual Media for her hit “Dance The Night,” another gem from the Barbie soundtrack.

Olivia Rodrigo, another three-time Grammy winner, has bagged an impressive six nominations this year.

The Recording Academy promises more acts will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event. But it’s already looking like a killer show.

We can always count on the Grammy Awards to bring some show-stopping red carpet looks our way and this year’s ceremony certainly delivered. Here are five amazing red carpet trends that stole the show at this year’s Grammys.

Dramatic Gloves

Dramatic gloves have been going strong for quite some time and they were all the rage at the Grammys, with everyone from Doja Cat and Beyonce to Bebe Rexha and Dylan Mulvaney wearing a pair.

Neon Colors

Neon shades of orange and yellow brought some sunshine to the Grammys, and we can thank Lizzo and Kelsea Ballerini for putting this trend on the map.

Blue & Purple

Some of the Grammy Awards’ best red carpet looks came in beautiful shades of purple and blue, with Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, and Taylor Swift opting for dresses in these shades.

Edgy Cutouts

Cutouts are another fashion trend that’s been ruling Hollywood for quite some time. Mary J. Blige, Kelsea Ballerini, Paris Hilton, Cardi B, and Bebe Rexha couldn’t resist this fashion craze.

Back to Black

Dramatic black dresses were everywhere at this year’s ceremonies, and Doja Cat, Laverne Cox, and Anitta gave us the most memorable looks in this color.

The 2023 Grammy Awards nominations are finally in, with Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar leading the way. It wasn’t a shocker to see their work recognized by the Recording Academy, but this year’s list of nominees brought many snubs and surprises that we didn’t see coming.

Snub: Rosalia

The Recording Academy truly let down some of the leading Latin artists this year, starting with Rosalia, who only got a consolation nomination for best Latin rock or alternative album for Motomami.

Surprise: ABBA

Mamma mia, ABBA is back! The Swedish pop group dropped a new album Voyage last year, and Grammy voters awarded them with four nods, including the coveted album of the year.

Snub: Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj criticized the Grammys for moving her chart-topping hit “Super Freaky Girl” from rap to pop. This category shift eventually cost her the nomination, since she failed to break through in the competitive pop field.

Surprise: Mary J. Blige

The Recording Academy is showing a lot of love to Mary J. Blige this year. Her latest album Good Morning Gorgeous is in the running for album of the year and this is just one out of six awards she was nominated for.

Snub: Best New Artists

It’s really a joy to see the likes of Anitta, Latto, and Måneskin nominated for the best new artist, but the glaring omission of several promising young female vocalists, such as Em Beihold, Dove Cameron, GAYLE, Tate McRae, and Lauren Spencer-Smith, truly stings.

This year is women’s year—women are making awards history and finally getting the recognition they deserve. In 2021, women are getting nominated and receiving accolades at the most prestigious awards including the Golden Globes, Oscars, and Grammys. And it’s about time!

Earlier this month, Chloé Zhao made history as only the second woman ever to win Best Director at the Golden Globes for Nomadland and she’s the first woman of Asian descent to be nominated for an Oscar. Zhao along with Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman) made history, for the first time ever that two women have been nominated for Best Director. The Oscars have only had five women nominated for Best Director in its entire history.

The film industry isn’t the only one celebrating female creativity—women in music are being recognized. The Grammys, which took place last Sunday night, saw female artists winning the major awards. Megan Thee Stallion won for Best New Artist and her song “Savage” featuring Beyoncé won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. Billie Eilish won Record of the Year for Everything I Wanted, Taylor Swift won Album of the Year for Folklore, Dua Lipa won Best Pop Vocal Album for Future Nostalgia, and H.E.R. won Song of the Year for “I Can’t Breathe”. Beyoncé won four awards, making her total Grammys 28, which is more than any other woman in the show’s history.

We can’t wait to see what other awards women win this year. We’ll have to wait until April 25 to see if women can take home Oscars.

If you’re out of inspiration for your next hairstyle, just try to remember what was trendy two or three decades ago and go with that. Nostalgic hairstyles have been ruling the world for quite some time, and some of them even made their way to the red carpet of the Grammys this year.

Blingy Hair Clips

If you’re looking for a way to make a fashion statement, hair clips are always a good idea. That’s exactly what Lizzo did with pink jumbo clips that made her hairstyle truly unforgettable.

Face-Framing Tendrils

Face-framing tendrils have been a huge hit with hairstylists for over a year now, and Megan Thee Stallion and Noah Cyrus were among the celebrities who couldn’t resist rocking them on the red carpet.

Sleek Middle Part

Parting hair in the middle is never going out of style. The list of celebrities who rocked this hairstyle at the Grammys is pretty much endless, and it includes everyone from Dua Lipa and Lizzo to Maren Morris and Haim sisters.

Mullets

Love them or hate them, mullets are still here and going stronger than ever. Doja Cat is the latest celebrity to embrace this trend, following in the footsteps of Miley Cyrus and Rihanna.

The list of Grammy Award nominations is finally in with Beyoncé leading the pack with a total of nine nods. Taylor Swift, Roddy Ricch, and Dua Lipa were right behind with six nominations apiece, but many artists who gave us amazing songs this year walked away with fewer nominations than we expected.

The Weeknd

The Weeknd’s After Hours is one of the defining albums of 2020 and it produced chart-topping singles “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights”. The fact that it received ZERO nominations at this year’s Grammys is one of the most confusing decisions in the history of this ceremony.

Harry Styles

Styles received three nominations at this year’s Grammy, including the best pop vocal album with Fine Line, but music lovers feel that his latest album deserved so much more.

Lady Gaga

The same can be said about Lady Gaga who scored two nods in pop categories, but is suspiciously absent from the general field despite the enormous success of her album Chromatica.

BTS

BTS is the first K-pop group to break into major Grammy categories with their best pop duo/group performance nomination for “Dynamite”, but their fans still feel the boy band deserved a few more nods.

Album of the Year

The album of the year category features several nominations that we didn’t see coming. The list of unexpected nominees features rising stars Jacob Collier, Jhené Aiko, and soul band Black Pumas.

The most exciting part of the Grammys is seeing what the stars decide to wear on the red carpet. This year was about more than just extravagant ballgowns and daring pantsuits. You might be wondering what pairs best with a Grammy–glitzy nail art. These celebrities showed that award ceremonies are about more than the best dressed; it’s about beauty looks.

Billie Eilish

The biggest winner of the night was all about green–she graced the red carpet in a green Gucci jumpsuit, which matched her green mullet, and her nails were also green with the Gucci monogram. Matchy-matchy is here to stay.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B70P6dVJVJz/

Lizzo

Lizzo wore a white and silver Versace fitted gown that was reminiscent of Old Hollywood glamour, and her nails featured a “lucky eight design,” for her eight nominations. Her nail artist, Eri Ishizu, used Christian Louboutin Metallinudes in Goldissima to paint glitter eights on her nails.

Rosalía

The Spanish singer’s long silver-diamond crystal nails shun almost as bright as the Grammy she won for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative album.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B70JmC_K11-/

Billy Porter

Billy Porter’s outfit was definitely OTT, between his bright blue and silver eyeshadow and matching crystalized jumpsuit with silver fringe hat, naturally, his silver nails completed the look.
