After forgettable stints with the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills earlier in 2020, corner Daryl Worley decided to return to familiar surroundings.

Worley confirmed on social media on Tuesday that he is back with the Las Vegas Raiders. The 25-year-old Worley previously played with the franchise in 2018 and 2019, starting 24 games during that period.

Worley’s return doesn’t come as a surprise considering the Raiders experienced issues on the position for the better part of the season. This includes the injury of 2020’s first-round pick Damon Arnette, who suffered multiple concussions in past several weeks.

While he isn’t expected to be inserted in the starting lineup right away, Worley should play a prominent role in the next couple of weeks for the Raiders due to his versatility. He can play corner position, be used as a nickel, and even line up on safety if needed. 

Daryl Worley hasn’t been productive in 2020 as in some previous years, managing only 14 tackles and one pass deflections in eight games. With Buffalo, he only played 20 snaps before being released.

Worley, who also played with Carolina Panthers early in his career, has 257 tackles, 35 pass deflections, five interceptions and 2.0 sacks as a pro.

It took longer than expected, but veteran linebacker Vic Beasley found a new team. Beasley, who was released by Tennessee Titans at the beginning of November, signed with Las Vegas Raiders.

Beasley, who was the No. 8 pick in 2015, won’t get to suit up for Raiders just yet as he landed on the team’s practice squad.

Beasley joined Tennessee on a one-year, $9 million deal in the offseason and was supposed to play a big role in the team’s pass rush. However, the 28-year-old player’s spell with the franchise started on a bad note right away. He first failed to show up for the beginning of the training camp and then went on to miss the first three weeks of the 2020 NFL season.

When Beasley finally got into action, he didn’t make the expected impact and struggled to get to the opposing quarterback. He ended up recording zero sacks and had just three tackles to show for before the organization decided to move on.

Despite the sour ending, Beasley went on Twitter on Monday to thank the Titans “for an amazing opportunity.”

Raiders will now hope that Vic Beasley’s struggles in Tennessee resulted from a bad fit and that he can rediscover the previous form in Las Vegas. Beasley totaled 37.5 sacks since becoming a pro and a First-Team All-Pro selection from 2016.
