One of the few in-person award shows this year, the stars looked absolutely fabulous and they seemed to have been inspired by the award of the night—the Oscar trophy. Gold was the color of the night and we saw a lot of it on the red carpet. The best actor and actress nominees weren’t afraid to make a bold statement and here were some of the Oscar-inspired looks from the night.

Posing with his wife Nicolette Robinson, the One Night in Miami best actor nominee wore a double-breasted Brioni suit with a matching shirt and tie. The jacquard fabric was woven with gold silk and pure 24-karat gold thread, making him look like a million bucks.

Carey Mulligan

Best Actress nominee for Promising Young Woman Carey Mulligan brought sparkle to the red carpet in a strapless Valentino Haute Couture gown featuring a bandeau top and dramatic full skirt covered in gold sequin.

Andra Day

Like Carey Mulligan the Billie Holiday best actress nominee wore a gold gown, but Andra Day’s fitted Vera Wang dress was super daring showing tons of skin with its bold cutouts.
