Following the success of the Barbie movie, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are set to team up for an Ocean’s 11 prequel. This next project will be produced by Margot’s company LuckyChap Entertainment.
Details about the prequel are being kept under wraps, but producer Josey McNamara hinted at their dedication to doing justice to the Ocean’s series. The storyline is expected to unfold against the backdrop of the Monaco Grand Prix in the 1960s, combining elements of an old-fashioned love story with an adventurous heist.
The movie will mark the franchise’s return since 2018’s Ocean’s 8 and will be directed by Jay Roach.
Despite initial concerns about reuniting Robbie and Gosling after their Barbie collaboration, the director emphasized their natural chemistry. The duo’s magnetic presence promises to add a powerful dynamic to the film.

Robbie continued her Barbie era while attending the Deadline Contenders Film panel in Los Angeles. She opted for a pretty casual look, wearing a pair of jeans and a white cherry-print shirt, paired with a red belt, high heels, and a Kalimero bucket bag, drawing inspiration from the “Cherry Pie Picnic” Barbie.
Pretty in Pink
Pink was Robbie’s signature color during the Barbie press tour, and she wore several Versace designs in this lively shade. She joined forces with this luxury brand again and rocked the cropped pink jacket and high-waisted mini skirt during the recent Barbie screening in New York City.
Black Magic
Barbie was honored with the Global Icon and Creator Tribute at this year’s Gotham Awards, and Robbie put a modern twist on Barbie’s “Black Magic Ensemble” from 1964 on the red carpet. Epic Domestic Opening
Barbie knocked it out of the park during its opening weekend, to score the largest domestic opening at the North American box office for a film directed by a woman, with $162 million earned in the U.S. and Canada.
Historic Non-Superhero Opening
Barbie also scored the largest global opening for any film that’s not a sequel, remake, or superhero property.
Barbillion
It was just a matter of time before Barbie joined the $1 billion club, and that moment came during its third weekend in the theaters. To make the whole thing even more impressive, Barbie is the first film by a solo female director to reach this mark.
Highest-Grossing Female Directed Film
Barbie also became the highest-grossing film by a solo female director, surpassing the record previously held by Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot—who was coincidently one of the stars considered for the role of Barbie.
Margot Robbie’s Highest-Grossing Film
Margot Robbie told studio executives that Barbie would make $1 billion in an early pitch meeting. Her prediction came true and Barbie quickly became the highest-grossing film of her career, easily surpassing Suicide Squad.

Robbie showed the world that the Barbie press tour is going to be fire in Seoul. She stepped out in not one, but two amazing pink Versace looks, inspired by the Day to Night Barbie from 1985.

LA World Premiere

Main Cast
Margot Robbie has been cast as Barbie in 2019, and she described this role as “a great opportunity to put some positivity out in the world and a chance to be aspirational for younger kids.” It’s recently been announced she’ll be joined by Ryan Gosling in the role of Ken, who’s been Warner Bros’ one and only choice for the role.
Creative Team
Some people have been skeptical about the prospect of a live-action Barbie movie, but they’ve changed their tune after learning who’ll be in charge of it. Greta Gerwig, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker behind Lady Bird and Little Women, will be the one directing it and co-writing the script with Noah Baumbach.
Release Date
