He also starred in A Star Is Born and the Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It.

Hawkins got his big break with the portrayal of Dr. Dre in the hit movie Straight Outta Compton. His filmography also includes roles in TV shows The Walking Dead and 24: Legacy and movies Kong: Skull Island, BlacKkKlansman, and 6 Underground.
