Website Baby Center polls parents year after year to find out what names they picked for their newborns. Over 742,000 parents answered during 2018. Here are the most popular baby names they chose.

For Girls

  1. Sophia
  2. Olivia
  3. Emma
  4. Ava
  5. Isabella
  6. Aria
  7. Riley
  8. Amelia
  9. Mia
  10. Layla

For Boys

  1. Jackson
  2. Liam
  3. Noah
  4. Aiden
  5. Caden
  6. Grayson
  7. Lucas
  8. Mason
  9. Oliver
  10. Elijah

This is the ninth consecutive year in which Sophia wins as the most popular name for baby girls. Jackson holds the first place for boys for the sixth year in a row. In 2018, Oliver pushed out Logan from the top 10. Layla did the same with Zoe. Some names are rapidly rising in popularity but didn’t get to the top 10 list, such as Everly, Isla, Leo, and Carson.

Several different websites also offer their lists of top baby names every year, so this is not a definite list. It’s just a fun way for the future parents to see what’s out there so they can decide on their baby’s name easier. What would you name your baby right now?
