After months of anticipation, the Super Bowl returned to Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday night – and it was worth the wait! This year’s Big Game has given us more epic moments than we can count, and here are three that stole the show.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ quest for a historic three-peat came to an end after they crashed and burned against the Philadelphia Eagles. Superstar quarterback Jalen Hurts helped his side score an epic 40-22 victory and won the Super Bowl MVP title after leading the Eagles to their second NFL championship win.

Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show

Kendrick Lamar had the time of his life headlining the halftime show, giving us everything from surprise guests to a homage to the West Coast hip-hop. He also took a dig at Drake with another rendition of the diss track “Not Like Us” that had the entire stadium singing along while the tennis legend Serena Williams danced in the background.

A-List Turnout

The seats at the Super Bowl were filled with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, but Taylor Swift’s appearance ended up stirring the most commotion. She became an instant meme after reacting to being booed at the Super Bowl by a largely pro-Eagles crowd while supporting her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Philadelphia Eagles will have to play out the rest of the 2020 season without franchise legend Jason Peters. The 38-year-old offensive lineman opted to undergo a toe surgery that will sideline him for several months.

Peters injured his toe several weeks ago but decided to play through it in hopes to help Eagles make a playoff push. The issue, however, forced him to change positions and he started at right guard in the last two games instead of left tackle.

Unfortunately for Philly, the injury got worse in the Week 13 loss to Green Bay Packers to the point that Peters decided surgery is the only option moving forward.  

“It’s an injury that we’ve known about, and he’s literally battled through it,” Eagles’ head coach Pederson told reporters on Friday. “He wanted to be out there with his teammates for the remainder of the season. It’s just to the point now where the injury is a little bit too bad for him to continue.”

The Eagles initially decided to part ways with Jason Peters after the 2019 NFL season, despite the fact that he was one of the key players for the franchise in the past 10 years. The team ended up changing their mind in July and brought him back on a one-year deal after Brandon Brooks suffered a season-ending injury.

It remains to be seen whether Peters, who has seven Pro Bowls and Super Bowl ring with Philly, has played his last game in NFL. He flirted with retirement in the past, and he might decide to call it quits after the latest injury.

Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Carson Wentz had been struggling for the better part of the season and it looked like he was poised to have another poor game in Thursday night’s divisional clash against New York Giants. But Wentz stepped up when it mattered the most, orchestrating two late touchdown drives to give his team a critical 22-21 comeback win.

With the win against Giants, the Eagles improved to a 2-4-1 record and now sit on top of the NFC East.

Eagles scored on their opening drive, with Wentz leading the offense down the field before rushing for a touchdown from the 1-yard line. They struggled from that point on and found themselves trailing 11 points with five minutes left in the contest.

But Philadelphia wasn’t about to give up.

Wentz first connected with rookie John Hightower on a massive 59-yards play that had Eagles knocking on Giants’ endzone without wasting much time on the clock. The drive concluded with a TD score by Greg Ward Jr., leaving Philly hoping that they can still have a say in this game. 

Eagles’ defense stepped up next, forcing the Giants to punt and leaving the offense two minutes to work with. And it turned out to be enough.

Wentz and co. surgically sliced through Giants’ defense with a well-balanced combination of run and passing plays before finding a way to the endzone thanks to a beautiful Boston Scott’s touchdown catch. 

Giants’ attempted to execute a winning drive of their own but fell short after Jones fumbled the ball, and Philadelphia recovered it.

“I was pretty surprised we pulled it off,” said Wentz, who finished the night with 359 yards and three touchdowns. “Obviously, there are a lot of emotions there. It was kind of a big, exciting moment but a big kind of a sigh of relief because we know we left a lot of plays out there. But the way we battled and found a way at the end of the game was huge for us.”
