Her viral hit “Greedy” is climbing to the top of the charts around the world, but it’s not the first song to put the Canadian singer on the map.
Tate McRae kicked off the promo for her second studio album Think Later, set to come out on December 8, by sharing the lead single “Greedy” with the world. This song became an instant sensation, topping the Billboard Global 200, in addition to hitting No. 3 in the UK and becoming her first song to enter the top 10 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
“Greedy” is certainly the first song that comes to mind when sometimes mentions McRae’s name, but that wasn’t the case just a few months ago. McRae’s rise to prominence started when she competed on the reality TV show So You Think You Can Dance before she decided to give singing a shot.
“One Day”, which she wrote at the age of 14, was her first song to gain virality online, attracting the attention of several record labels. She eventually signed the deal with RCA Records in 2019 and attracted international attention with her breakout hit “You Broke Me First”, the soaring ballad which was featured in over a million TikTok videos following its release in April 2020.
This viral hit was featured on her second EP Too Young to Be Sad, and the first studio album quickly followed. Her debut LP I Used to Think I Could Fly came out last year and produced the hit single “She’s All I Wanna Be”, but it’s safe to assume she’ll find an even bigger audience with its follow-up after the success of “Greedy”.

Only a day after making her Saturday Night Live debut, Tate McRae impressed us with her vocal abilities and epic dance moves with another performance of her TikTok hit “Greedy”.
Only a few days after dominating the Latin Grammy Awards, Karol G came back to slay at the BBMAs, and delivered a show-stopping medley of her songs “Qlona”, “Labios Mordidos”, and “Ojos Ferrari”.
The collaboration between Bebe Rexha and David Guetta is a gift that keeps on giving, and their latest performance merged their songs “I’m Good (Blue)” and “One In a Million” into one.
