Clemson’s quarterback Trevor Lawrence is entering the 2021 NFL Draft. Lawrence, projected to be the first overall pick in April, officially announced his decision via a video posted on his social media.

Lawrence previously said that he is considering returning to Clemson for one more year, with several reports also indicating that this is a real possibility if the 21-year-old doesn’t want to play for the franchise that holds the No.1 pick.

But Lawrence removed any doubts about his future on Wednesday, saying that he’s “excited for life ahead.”

“The best is always yet to come, but I’m grateful for Clemson, and I’m going to miss it,” added Lawrence, who finished second in Heisman Trophy voting in 2020. 

Trevor Lawrence will end his college career with 34-2 record and a National Championship title on his resume. His 10,098 passing yards in three years are third-most in Clemson’s history, while he is also second in touchdown passes with 90.

The next stop for Lawrence will most likely be Jacksonville Jaguars, who hold the No.1 pick in 2021. The Jags are in need of a quarterback, and he’s considered the best player in the class and best QB prospect since Andrew Luck in 2012.
