#WFHFits is Buzzing on Instagram

WFH (Work From Home) has become an acronym we’ve become all too familiar with during the pandemic. While working from home, many of us have been rocking pajamas and sweatpants while others of us have been getting dressed up as though we’re actually going into the office. Work from home outfits have been a huge trend in the fashion world and a group of New York and London-based fashion editors decided to start an Instagram account dedicated to this new way of life.

Elle’s Sara McAlpine, Vogue’s Steff Yotka, and GQ’s Rachel Tashjian launched the Instagram page wfhfits back when the pandemic was just getting started on March 13, and since then, it’s reached 23,000 followers and has almost 500 posts. The first post was of Diane Keaton sobbing into a laptop in the 2003 comedy, Something’s Gotta Give before they came to their niche of creatives in #WFH outfits.

So far, we’ve seen it all on the Instagram page including everything from dogs doing the #PillowChallenge, women wearing ties and calling themselves “Mr. Manager” to people wearing Crocs and beach towels. However, most of the feed is people in loungerwear and pajamas. One post even has a girl wearing a killer suit with the caption, “Many people are wearing suits proving that fashion is not for the rest of the world, it is for your own personal satisfaction, self-esteem, and this Instagram account.”

Even celebrities have appeared like Frank Ocean, who wore mismatched undone Vans and had the comment, “Don’t forget to tie your shoes. This is a health risk,” and Timothée Chalamet, who was praised as the “#WFH fit king.”

What have your WFH outfits looked like? If you’re interested in having one of your looks featured on this page, the posts are submitted via DM.
