2020 Just Got a Lot More Interesting With Tom Ford’s Breastplates

An unexpected trend was worn by celebrities during the past few weeks – breastplates. Yes, they’re exactly what they sound like, these anatomical pieces are meant to protect the breasts. The design was first seen in Tom Ford’s Fall 2020 collection and already three of the biggest celebrities, Gwenthyth Paltrow, Zoe Kravitz, and Zendaya have been spotted in the trend. The breastplate will set you back $15,000, but you can admire from afar with these looks.

Gwenyth Paltrow

Paltrow was the first celebrity daring enough to wear the breastplate; she graced the February 2020 cover of Harper’s Bazaar in this high neck metallic purple design. The actress is more than happy fellow stars are wearing the design, “Thank God I can say I have something in common with Zendaya,” Paltrow commented on Zendaya’s Instagram post in the outfit.

Zendaya

The Euphoria star is used to taking style risks on the red carpet and this one definitely paid off. Zendaya wore this hot pink breastplate to the 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards pairing it with a flowy floor-length pink skirt.

Zoe Kravitz

Another star wore the breastplate in a magazine and this time it was Big Little Lies’ Zoe Kravitz for Elle. Kravitz’s version is a bit more revealing and it’s black, a color we’re used to seeing armor in.
