Ariana Grande will soon follow in the footsteps of Rihanna and Selena Gomez and become Hollywood’s latest star with her own beauty line. Her cosmetics brand r.e.m. beauty has been two years in the making, and here are the most important things we’ve learned about it.
Grande intends to present her makeup line through a series of product drops, starting with eye makeup. While discussing her beauty line with Allure, she revealed she wants to kick things off this way because she feels that eyes are “our main storytellers and sources of communication.”
The Grammy-winning artist also took a moment to talk about the specific products she’ll share with the world. The first drop will include fine-point eyeliner markers, liquid eye shadows in a range of matte shades, glittering toppers, and at least one mascara, but lipsticks and lip gloss that tingle upon application are on the way.
Grande wants her makeup brand to be a perfect mix between nostalgia and futurism and pay homage to some iconic beauty looks from the past. While chatting with Allure, the “Position” singer said she always gravitated towards the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s for glamour references and wanted to recreate the looks from that time period.
