Marvel Studios have announced that production for Deadpool 3 is officially underway.
Prior to DC’s release of Joker, Deadpool boasted the title of the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. The superhero blockbuster mocks all the usual superhero tropes and delivers something action-packed and hilarious all in one package.
Following the Fox and Disney merger, it has been unclear whether Deadpool 3 would actually happen. Back in July, it was confirmed that the sequel would definitely be happening and now, Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that Deadpool 3 is officially in the works.
Reynolds told Live with Kelly and Ryan: “Yeah we’re working on it right now with the whole team.”
He also revealed that the film will take a new direction and hinted that Deadpool’s sexuality may be explored in the sequel.
“I certainly think that this universe needs to represent and reflect the world in very real ways,” he said. “The great thing about Deadpool is that we’re allowed to do things that other superhero movies don’t necessarily do. It’s something that I’d love to see more of.”
There is no release date scheduled for Deadpool 3.
