Creating a mood board is a great way to gather ideas and hone in on your vision for your dream home. To help you get started, here are a few tips.

Choose a Medium

Select a platform to organize and display your inspirations. You can make a physical mood board using a corkboard, poster board, or even a large piece of cardboard. You can also make a digital mood board on Canva or Pinterest.

Gather Inspirations and Elements

Assemble a collection of images, colors, textures, patterns, and materials that resonate with you and your vision. This can be interior and exterior images of homes, swatches of colors, fabrics, wallpapers, and flooring materials. And don’t forget to add some furniture, architectural elements, and decorative accents.

Refine and Edit

When you’re done, step back and review your mood board. Consider if the elements align with your vision and make adjustments as necessary. Edit out elements that don’t fit or add new inspirations that complement your design direction.

Use it as a Guide

You’re ready to go! Refer back to it when making decisions on paint colors, furniture choices, finishes, and overall design elements to ensure consistency and alignment with your vision.
