Last month, Instagram shared two big announcements. The first is that the Facebook-owned company just became a community of one billion people. This was a great opportunity to launch a new feature, about which was the second announcement: IGTV is here.
What is IGTV?
According to the official statement, “IGTV [is] a new app for watching long-form, vertical video from your favorite Instagram creators.”
“You’ll also be able to watch from within the Instagram app so the entire community of one billion can use it from the very start,” the company added.
IGTV will bring videos longer than one minute, which is the length of the videos Instagram allowed until now. There will be plenty of options for discovering new content to watch and users to follow.
