Pantone Chooses “Peach Fuzz” as the Color of the Year for 2024

There’s always a lot of anticipation leading up to Pantone’s announcement of the official color of the year, and they finally made their choice for 2024. Pantone chose “peach fuzz” as the color that’ll be dominating fashion runways and our homes and moods in the year to come.

Pantone color specialist Leatrice Eisman discussed their latest selection CNN and explained why “peach fuzz” felt like the perfect choice for 2024.

“We’re going through a lot of turmoil in our lives, and we have a need for a color that’s nurturing. It’s a warm and cozy shade. And it’s very tactile. We feel that at a time like this, tactility is really important — to touch other people and gather them into our homes,” she explained.

In Pantone’s official press release, Eisman described “peach fuzz” as a shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless. They even partnered up with several brands to launch products in this calming shade, including Motorola, Ruggable, Spoonflower, and Polaroid.

Pantone’s “color of the year” program will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year, and the list of notable past choices includes cerulean, sand dollar, honeysuckle, rose quartz, and last year’s viva magenta.
