There are many trends experiencing rapid growth during the pandemic, some of which will probably stick around in the future—and pickleball is definitely one of them. Pickleball is a paddleball sport that has been around for decades, but over the last few years, it has become the fastest-growing sport in America.

Even though it sounds like it has something to do with pickles, it doesn’t. Pickleball is a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, and just like any of these sports it can be played both in pairs or in singles.

The reason why pickleball became so popular in recent years is that it’s affordable, easy to learn, and, according to players, it’s very addictive. However, the main reason why the game experienced a pandemic boom is that it’s socially distanced-friendly and can be played outdoors.

Up until recently, pickleball was mostly popular among older people in the United States, but now young people around the world are becoming interested in this game. Given this rapid rise in popularity we’re sure that this trendy sport is here to stay.
