Over the past few years, we’ve seen a lot of people creating teeny, tiny food that’s actually edible, and the trend has finally hit TikTok! So far, TikTok user @foodcreator6 is the main account responsible for these mini foods, and there are four short videos.
@foodcreator6 has over 60,000 followers, which we only expect to increase soon. The food is literal works of art and it’s extremely impressive how much detail goes into each meal. The videos include the prep and finished products for steak, beef Wellington, braised pork, and pork buns which all use miniature ingredients and mini kitchen tools. In the beef Wellington video, you see the chef’s process start to finish which includes salting the meat, heating up a miniature gas-lit stove, cooking the meat, chopping up vegetables with a miniature knife before placing the vegetables in a miniature food processor, and cooking the vegetables, meat, and dough in the cutest little miniature oven.
Although these types of videos have been popular online since 2016, the trend actually dates back to Japan’s fascination with kawaii or “cuteness”.
In addition to TikTok, there are tons of YouTube videos and Instagram accounts dedicated to tiny cooking.
