Selena Gomez’s last album Rare was mostly a solo effort, but she’s taking a new direction with her new songs. The former Disney star released several collaborations throughout 2021 and used them all to give the spotlight to artists who are less familiar than her.

“999” ft. Camilo

“999” is Gomez’s latest in a long line of collaborations with Latin artists, and it sees her singing in Spanish. It features Colombian singer Camilo, who currently has one Latin Grammy under his belt, but he’s yet to make waves on the international music scene.

“Baila Conmigo” ft. Rauw Alejandro

2021 marked the release of the singer’s first project prominently in the Spanish language—her fourth EP titled Revelación. “Baila Conmigo” was one of the biggest hits from this record, and it saw her joining forces with the Puerto Rican rapper Rauw Alejandro.

“Selfish Love” ft. DJ Snake

DJ Snake is not exactly a rising star, but he owes his success to collaborations with A-list stars, such as Gomez. They previously worked on “Taki Taki”, also featuring Ozuna and Cardi B, and “Selfish Love” marked their second collaboration. DJ Snake described it as the “perfect evolution” of their history together.
