After months of anticipation, Barbie finally hit the theatres this weekend, setting several major records along the way. There’s a lot to love about Greta Gerwig’s latest cinematic masterpiece, but this film probably wouldn’t be the same without its star-studded soundtrack.

Dua Lipa – Dance the Night

Released as the lead single from Barbie: The Album, Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night” perfectly set the stage for this film and it was a crucial part of Barbie’s huge blow-out party.

Ice Spice & Nicki Minaj – Barbie World

Margot Robbie insisted to have Aqua’s iconic song “Barbie Girl” in the movie, and Greta Gerwig found a way to make it happen. Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj joined forces to record “Barbie World”, which brilliantly sampled the original Europop smash hit.

Charli XCX – Speed Drive

We can always count on Charli XCX to craft a perfect catchy bop, and her bubblegum pop anthem “Speed Drive” was a great fit for one of the film’s thrilling action sequences.

Billie Eilish – What Was I Made For?

In a sea of disco-inspired pop songs, Billie Eilish offered a moment of depth and reflection with the emotional ballad “What Was I Made For?”, which perfectly captured Barbie’s journey of self-discovery.

Ryan Gosling – I’m Just Ken

When all is said and done, there’s one song that made us see the whole movie in a brand-new light. “I’m Just Ken” became a viral sensation for a reason, and its silly lyrics paired with Ryan Gosling’s perfect delivery made this song an instant classic.
