]]>Ever since Game of Thrones ended its run, HBO has been struggling to find the next big show to take its place. Lovecraft Country has been canceled after only one season and Westworld failed to live up to its initial hype but could the Game of Thrones spin-offs manage to create the buzz that HBO is looking for?
We’re forced to ask this question after Deadline reported that a new animated spin-off could be coming to HBO Max. This streaming service is reportedly plotting three potential GOT animated spin-offs, including one set in the Golden Empire of Yi Ti.
Even if these animated spin-offs never see the light of day, they’re not the only GOT-related projects coming our way in the next few years. House of the Dragon will premiere in 2022, and it will chronicle the rise and fall of House Targaryen, but it’s far from being the only spin-off on the way.
The potential sequels set within George R. R. Martin’s fictional world include 9 Voyages, 10,000 Ships, and a project about Flea Bottom, the poorest slum in King’s Landing. Martin’s novella Tales of Dunk & Egg is also up for an adaptation.
How many of these adaptations will actually see the light of day? It’s hard to tell because HBO previously canceled another potential spin-off called Bloodmoon, and it’s safe to assume some other projects will suffer the same fate. Game of Thrones lost its momentum after a mediocre final season, and its spin-offs are too expensive to produce so it’s highly unlikely that HBO will go forward with all of them.

Now that the network’s highly-anticipated horror series Lovecraft Country is here, we can finally know if it will possibly follow the footsteps of HBO’s biggest smash hit?
Lovecraft Country takes place in the city that supposedly served as a location for many fictional tales of the famous horror writer H. P. Lovecraft. It follows a young black man traveling across the segregated United States back in the 1950s in search of his missing father.
Lovecraft Country created a lot of buzz since its premiere on August 16th, and it has the potential to become HBO’s next big hit. Just like Game of Thrones, it’s based on a popular fantasy novel, and HBO set aside a huge budget to make it happen, but could it be just as successful?
J. J. Abrams and Jordan Peele are producing this show alongside showrunner Misha Green, so it’s pretty obvious that HBO has another hit at hand, but it’s its own thing. It’s primarily aimed at horror fans, so it’s highly unlikely it will become a global phenomenon like Game of Thrones, but that’s not stopping it from receiving praise and having impressive ratings, similar to Watchmen.

]]>A new Game of Thrones spin-off is in the works, and it will tell the story of the fall of the House Targaryen, around 300 years before the original show’s timeline.
Back in July, HBO announced they are beginning to work on the first prequel to Game of Thrones, which will be titled either The Long Night or Bloodmoon. It will unravel the story of White Talkers and the world of Westeros hundreds of years before the Golden Age of Heroes, when the Children of the Forest lived in it.
Many fans were disappointed that no Targaryens or Lannisters will appear in this prequel, but there’s good news – there will be another spin-off show that will focus on the House Targaryen of Dragonstone.
The details are still unknown as the authors of the show don’t want to reveal anything too soon.
George R. R. Martin, the author of the books on which Game of Thrones was based, wrote a blog post stating that there were “five different Game of Thrones successor shows in development at HBO, and three of them are still moving forward nicely,” as Deadline reports.
“Two other shows remain in the script stage, but are edging closer. What are they about? I cannot say,” he wrote.

You can expect the label to drop a Game of Thrones makeup collection very soon. As we’re waiting for the final season of GOT in April, we might as well think of some cool looks to create with the vibrant line.
