]]>Like it or not, when it comes to what’s in style, Gen Z are the ones setting the trends. Between Emma Chamberlain, Addison Rae, and Olivia Rodrigo, we’re looking to Gen Z to see what’s in and what’s out. So, what are Gen Z wearing? We’ll give you a hint—there’s a lot of nostalgia! Here are five trends you’ll be seeing everywhere over the next few months.
No jacket, coat, or cardigan is complete without fur trim. It’s extra and playful while still being classy and elegant. We’re not going to lie—we’re getting total The Nanny vibes.
Corsets have been super trendy over the past year and they’re not going out of style anytime soon. They’re great for any season and work so well layered.
Every closet needs some basics, but basics don’t have to be boring. Elevated basics like white tops with cutout details, coated jeans, mesh tops in neutral colors, and crop tops with asymmetrical hems go perfectly with will statement pieces.
Trends from other decades like the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and ’00s are popping up everywhere. Mini skirts, psychedelic print, and low-rise jeans are totally in.
It’s no surprise that sweater vests, tennis skirts, button-downs, and argyle sweaters are everywhere, but the Gen Z way to wear preppy is with a modern vibe by incorporating more grungy elements like leather jackets, Dr. Martens, and ties.

]]>Each generation is shaped by the times in which they grow up, and that manifests itself in their tastes. And right now it’s the age of Generation Z. Those born between 1996 and 2012 are paving the way for many trends and that includes the small screen. Naturally, they tend to gravitate towards TV shows that address their lived experiences, fears, dreams, and desires. So what are the TV shows Gen Z can’t seem to get enough of?
This hit show from HBO follows the lives of a group of troubled teenagers, with Zendaya playing the lead role of Rue, a 17-year-old who struggles with substance misuse.
Sam Gardener is ready to find love, and the fact that he is on the autistic spectrum isn’t going to stop him. The theme at the core of this lovely show is embracing your individuality, which is what makes it so loved.
Sex Education follows Otis, the socially awkward son of outspoken sex therapist Dr. Jean Milburn (played by Gillian Anderson) and smart cool-girl Meave as they set up a sex advice clinic at their high school.
Stranger Things follows a group of misfit friends who seek to uncover dark plots and supernatural phenomena, while also dealing with coming-of-age issues like self-discovery, first kisses, and school dances.

]]>It’s no secret that TikTok, one of the biggest apps in the world right now, is largely seen as a Gen Z app, with nearly all of its most famous influencers like Charli D’Amelio and Addison Ray falling squarely into the Gen Z category. However, just because the app’s most visible users are all Zoomers doesn’t mean that the app has no room for people who are a little older.
In fact, there are plenty of people who fit into the Millennial, Gen X, and even Boomer categories who are having a great time on TikTok. So if you’re thinking of joining the app but worried you’ll feel out of place because you’re too old, you might like to hear about just some of the adult celebrities who are thriving on TikTok right now.
For example, Alicia Silverstone, famous for playing Cher in the classic 1995 teen film Clueless, just joined TikTok a few days ago, recreating a favorite scene from her star-making hit. And she’s not the only one.

Other celebs making a place for themselves on TikTok include Jason Derulo, Lizzo, and Amy Schumer, just to name a few. So if you’re curious about trying it out, go for it. You’ll find your people, no matter what your age.
