]]>Every October we look forward to all things spooky as it’s when Halloween is, and this year, we’ve got something extra special to look forward to this month—tons of horror movies are being released this month! From slashers and dark comedies to psychological thrillers and zombies, October 2021 has tons of anticipated horror films being released. Here are the ones we’re most excited about.
Netflix’s original horror film, directed by Creep‘s Patrick Brice, tells the story of a Hawaii to Nebraska transfer student who ends up in danger after a serial killer begins hunting down people in her new town.
One of the most awaited films is Halloween Kills, the latest film in the Halloween franchise. This one picks up where Haloween 2018 left off with Michael Myers escaping Laurie’s burning house and slaughtering a bunch of firefighters and going back to hunt her and her offspring down.
Another original horror from Netflix, Night Teeth centers around a college student who’s working as a driver to make money and picks up two young women. The two women end up being vampires who are fighting rival tribes.
The psychological thriller directed by Edgar Wright has a woman transported back to the ’60s and in the body of her favorite singer. But things aren’t as glamorous as they appear to be and reality is much darker.
The prequel to Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead is set near the beginning of the outbreak and it’s a heist and zombie film.

]]>The Venice Film Festival is the longest-running film festival in Europe and it’s also where the most anticipated films of the year debut. The festival marks the start of the fall awards season and many films that were pushed back use the event to gain buzz prior to their world premieres. These films are getting major attention at the Venice Film Festival.
Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated Dune has drawn lots of attention and much of it has to do with the all-star cast which includes Timothée Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, and Dave Bautista, among others. The film received an eight-minute standing ovation. Dune‘s about a young Paul Atreides (Chalamet), scion of the noble House of Atreides, which oversees the barren desert planet Arrakis, known as Dune.
Edgar Weight’s psychological thriller starring The Queen’s Gambit‘s Anya Taylor-Joy, also received a five-minute standing ovation. The film follows Eloise (Thomasin McKenzie) as she travels back in time to the 1960s and meets her idol, a singer named Sandy (Taylor-Joy), but her journey is anything but smooth.
Starring Kristen Stewart, Spencer received a three-minute standing ovation. Stewart is expected to receive her first Oscar nomination for the role in which she plays the princess over the course of three days during a Christmas holiday and deals with Diana’s decision to end her marriage to Prince Charles (Jack Farthing).
