The post Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2021: A Return to Bright & Bold Styles appeared first on toppoptoday.com.
]]>Despite many events being canceled this year and Italy being one of the countries hit hard during the pandemic, Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2021 went on from September 22 through September 28. During the start of fashion month we saw more subtler, pared-back collections, but Milan Fashion Week brought us back to the bold, bright styles and textures that make a statement. It seems like the laid-back WFH looks are taking a backseat and we couldn’t be more excited! These were the top trends seen across Milan’s runways.
Vacations may be a thing of the future, but it’s clear that island getaways influenced the designers collections which featured tropical flowers, nautical themes, and summery prints.
Neutrals have always been a staple at fashion week, but Milan was all about bright, bold color combinations.
Sheer dresses were layered with slips and relaxed trousers, which is the perfect way to wear something light and breezy for the warmer months.
Oversized dresses and coats were shown by many designers and they’ll help you stay warm while looking chic.
Both heavy knits and more delicate doily styles were all over the runway and they are ideal for movement and lightness once we hit the warmer months.

]]>Milan Fashion Week never fails to impress us, as the designers never play it safe on the runway, especially when it comes to beauty looks. We saw tons of looks ranging from natural and simplistic to bold and daring.
Gucci brought us inky mascara tears running down the model’s cheeks, Marni featured metallic glitter and bright hair paint, Mochino had pastel hair poofs, while other designers such as Salvatore Ferragamo and Bottega Veneta’s models had minimal makeup, while Prada and Missoni’s models had classic straight blunt haircuts. These were our favorite looks from Milan’s Fashion week.
Gucci’s new Mascara L’Obscur was used in a way we weren’t expecting—as tears. This look is definitely bold, but it’s great for getting a punky, edgy vibe.
Lil Kim debuted this hairstyle in the ’90s, but it made a comeback on the Pucci runway. The hair is spray-painted with bright colored leaves and block print, which matches perfectly with the collection.
After seeing how polished the models looked on the Prada and Missoni runway, we’ll be asking our hairdresser for this face-framing hairstyle. Many of the hairstyles were completed with metal headbands.
This elegant braided hairstyle seen on the Fendi runway is an ode to Star Wars Princess Leia and pastries like cinnamon buns.
A pop of color on the lips can complete any outfit, and Fendi’s deep plum and Missoni’s rust brown lips brought us right back to the 90s. On the GCDS runway, we were in awe of the foiled lips in metallic lilac, green, and bubble gum pink lip shades.
