]]>The nominations for the upcoming Critics’ Choice TV Awards are finally in, with The Morning Show and Succession leading the way. The list of contenders at this ceremony will be pretty impressive, but it still brought several notable subs and surprises our way.
Genre shows often struggle to win over the critics, and that was certainly the case with the most recent seasons of Yellowjackets, which only received one nomination.
Despite the critics’ dismay of genre shows, Disney’s Loki managed to break through and scored four nominations, including the coveted best drama series nod.
Two Succession stars received nominations for the best actor in a drama series, but Brian Cox wasn’t one of them.
Brian Cox’s omission is especially surprising when you take into consideration that Ramón Rodríguez received a nod in the best actor category for his role in ABC’s overlooked drama Will Trent.
It was quite a shocker to see Only Murders in the Building miss out on the best comedy nomination and only get two nods thanks to Steve Martin and Meryl Streep.
If you haven’t seen Justified: City Primeval, you’re not alone, but that didn’t stop its stars Timothy Olyphant and Aunjanue Ellis from getting acting nominations for their performances in this series.

]]>With Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez leading the pack, Only Murders in the Building was always one star-studded affair, but Season 3 will truly be an embarrassment of the riches. Hulu’s acclaimed murder mystery comedy is coming back this month, and here’s who’s joining the show this time around.
Paul Rudd made a cameo in the Season 2 finale, but his role will be much bigger when the show returns for its next chapter. He’ll be back as Ben Glenroy, the lead actor in Oliver’s Broadway play, who suddenly drops dead on stage on the opening night.
Acting legend Meryl Streep is the most exciting addition to the show’s third season. She’ll join the show as Loretta Durkin, an ironically awful actress, who’s pretty terrible at table reads.
Season 3 will introduce us to several new cast members, who’ll play actors in Oliver’s Broadway play. Emily in Paris star Ashley Park is one of them, and her character Kimber has been described as a “Tik-Tok addicted starlet”.
Grey’s Anatomy veteran Jesse Williams will join the next season as enigmatic documentarian Tobert, who’s helping Mabel crack Ben Glenroy’s murder and serves as her potential love interest in Season 3.
