House of the Dragon
After years in development, one of the highly-anticipated Game of Thrones sequels will see the light of day next year, and HBO finally gave us a first look. The first teaser for House of the Dragon is here and offers first glimpses at the beginning of the end of House Targaryen.
Peacemaker
If John Cena’s Peacemaker happened to be your favorite part of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, you’ll be happy to hear he’s getting his own stand-alone series. The first hilarious clip from Peacemaker sees Cena returning to this role, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store when this series premieres in January 2022.
And Just Like That…
Unlike the previous two “first look” clips, this one mostly consists of behind-the-scenes footage, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting. It shows Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon return as their iconic Sex and the City characters to announce this revival is coming to HBO Max in December.

]]>Sex and the City is coming back to our screens and we couldn’t be more excited! So far we’ve gotten an official series name, the stars that will be in it, some behind-the-scenes photos, and first-look footage. While no official release date has been announced, the 10-part revival is set to premiere in the fall of 2021. Here’s everything we know so far about the reboot.
What It’s About
The reboot comes from HBO Max is titled And Just Like That… and it will follow Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda navigating love and friendships in New York City in their 50s. The coronavirus pandemic will also be part of the storyline.
Cast
Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon will be reprising their roles as Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda. Kim Cattrall will not be reprising Samantha, but a fourth character of Che Diaz (Sara Ramírez), a non-binary, queer, stand-up comedian who hosts a podcast that Carrie frequently joins, will be a series regular.
Also returning to the show are Mr. Big (Chris Noth), Mr. Big’s second wife Natasha (Bridget Moynahan), Aidan Shaw (John Corbett), and Steve Brady (David Eigenberg). Also reprising their roles are Mario Cantone as Anthony Marentino, the late Willie Garson who played Stanford Blatch, and Evan Handler as Harry Goldenblatt.
Snapshots from the Show
Sarah Jessica Parker offered a peek at the script from the show’s first episode, which is titled “Hello It’s Me.” HBO then gave fans a look at the main cast back in July. Since then many other cast pictures have been released by the streaming network.
First Footage
A sneak peak at the first footage of the reboot was revealed during the 2021 Emmy Awards. HBOMax included a couple of clips from the show in a package for the streaming platform. The first shot shows Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte reunited and the next one has Carrie and Mr. Big getting cozy in the kitchen and sharing a big kiss.

]]>After a lot of rumors and speculations, HBO Max finally confirmed they gave the highly-anticipated revival of The Sex and the City a green light. This is amazing news for fans of the show, but it doesn’t come as a surprise since this isn’t the first buzzy reboot coming to this streaming service.
Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis are expected to return to their respective roles from the original show, making this the most exciting HBO Max reboot to date. The new show will be titled And Just Like That… and it will show three BFFs navigating love and friendship in their 50s (without Samantha Jones since Kim Cattrall won’t be returning).
The involvement of the original cast makes this the most exciting HBO Max revivals to date, but it’s not the only one. After failing to make a splash with its launch, this streaming service is starting to heavily rely on nostalgic reboots to pump up its subscriber count.
Most notably, HBO Max developed a new Gen Z version of Gossip Girl, set to premiere later this year. The Pretty Little Liars spin-off Original Sin is also on the way, in addition to Grease: Rydell High and Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai. HBO Max is planning to release a total of around 50 shows in 2021 alone, and pop culture nostalgia seems to be the driving force behind some of them, but we’re yet to see if this will prove to be the winning formula.

]]>Everyone’s been talking about one thing this week—the Sex and the City reboot. After rumors about a reboot for years, it’s finally been confirmed that it’s happening. The announcement for the revival came in a short video clip shared by returning cast members Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon which featured York City streets. So, what can we expect from the revival titled And Just Like That…?
The 10-episode series will follow Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, and Charlotte York through their friendship during their 50s, which is much more complicated than it was during their 30s. While there’s no premiere date set, the series is scheduled to begin production in New York in late spring.
Also returning are executive producer Michael Patrick King, who directed the original series and worked on the show’s two feature films. There’s no word yet if the show’s iconic costume designer Patricia Field will be returning. The show’s creator, Darren Star, won’t be part of the reboot due to other obligations.
A notable face that won’t be returning is the fourth member of the friend group, Kim Cattrall’s Samantha Jones. Fans are worried about how the series will do without Samantha Jones and they’re wondering if the producers will replace Cattrall with another actor or if they’ll eliminate her character altogether.
Parker may have answered this question when responding to a comment on her Instagram post announcing the revival. “Samantha isn’t part of this story. But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do.”
Besides for these details, not much else is known about the revival, but we’re excited to find out more to come.
