]]>We never thought that we’d see the day when the most popular and expensive item in Jimmy Choo’s stores would be a pair of sneakers, but that’s exactly what’s happened. The pair of designer’s sneakers cost €3,590, which is around $4,400, and they are completely covered in crystals. The model is not new —it was launched two years ago—but it’s currently one of the most popular items from the brand thanks to the new reality that 2020 brought us.
In 2020, there weren’t many opportunities to dress up and go out. Most weddings and other celebrations were canceled, nights out turned into leisure nights at home, and we didn’t even dress up for work since work from home became the new normal. All this affected the fashion trends. High heels were replaced by sneakers and elegant outfits couldn’t beat tracksuits and other comfortable combinations. Even the major high fashion brands saw a decline in their elegant shoe sales and had to adapt to the changing world.
