Shadow and Bone is the latest Netflix show that got everyone talking, and it’s just a matter of time before the streaming giant renews it for another season. If you’ve already watched all the episodes, and can’t wait for the next chapter, here are few fantasy shows with a similar vibe.

Shadowhunters

Just like Alina Starkov, Clary Fray from Shadowhunters discovers she possesses mystical powers that are set to change the course of her life.

A Discovery of Witches

If the romance between Alina and Darkling happens to be your favorite part of Shadow and Bone, you’ll love this British series about a witch and a vampire who have an equally intense relationship.

Cursed

If you’re browsing through Netflix after binging Shadow and Bone, looking for a fantasy series with a similar vibe, this retelling of the Arthurian legend of the Lady of the Lake will be your cup of tea.

The Witcher

Another Netflix show based on a popular novel series, The Witcher is just the cure you need for your post-Shadow and Bone haze and it will give you a new fantasy world to obsess about.

His Dark Materials

Just like Shadow and Bone, this adaptation of Philip Pullman’s iconic novels centers on an orphan girl coming to terms with mystical powers and fighting against evil to protect her loved ones.

Although video games have a huge influence on pop culture, only a few television shows and movies have managed to capture the vibe of gaming to the screen. But with the rise of Sonic the Hedgehog and Netflix’s The Witcher, this seems to be changing in 2020.

Sonic the Hedgehog had the best box office opening of any video game adaptation, earning over $70 million in its opening weekend. Despite the initial reluctance from fans of the game, the reviews for the film have been positive.

Netflix’s The Witcher had the platform’s biggest debut, and it’s one of the most popular shows of 2020.

In 2019, Pokémon Detective Pikachu earned over $430 million in box office revenue worldwide.

Still to come in September 2020 are Monster Hunter, a movie based on Capcom’s video game series, and Without Remorse, a movie based on the Rainbow Six games and movies.

There are about 15 more upcoming video game movies and TV shows to look forward to, including a movie adaptation of the shooting game Borderlands, a live-action TV series based on Final Fantasy XIV, a Resident Evil TV series, Minecraft the Movie, and an adaptation of Uncharted.
