]]>The list of nominees for the Golden Globes is in, with Belfast and The Power of the Dog leading the way. HFPA chose some worthy contenders to compete for the top prizes at the upcoming ceremony, but we were pretty surprised by some of their choices this time around.
The biggest surprise that HFPA had in store came at the very beginning of the nomination announcement when Snoop Dog stepped out to declare the contenders.
Steve Martin and Martin Short both received acting nods for Only Murders in the Building. Selena Gomez was left out, which is quite a shocker since HFPA has a habit of nominating big-name contenders.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest ode to San Fernando Valley fully deserves all the praise it’s getting, but it was pretty surprising to see newcomers Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman get their acting nods.
Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen received Golden Globe nods for their work on WandaVision, but that wasn’t the case with their co-star Kathryn Hahn—or the series itself.
Netflix projects received 17 nods for Golden Globes this year, and its foreign series—including Lupin and Squid Game—had a surprisingly good showing.
Succession topped the list of nominees in TV categories, but the absence of Matthew Macfadyen is pretty jarring because most fans of the show would agree he’s the MVP of the latest season.

]]>Cosmetics brands sometimes find inspiration for their makeup collection in the most unexpected of places. Pop culture-themed makeup lines have been all the rage recently, and some of the very best are inspired by our favorite TV shows—both old and new.
Revolution recently surprised us with a new makeup collection inspired by everyone’s favorite 90s sitcom. This is the brand’s third Friends makeup line, and it features two large eye shadow palettes, three smaller shadow palettes, and lip kits that allow you to channel your inner Rachel, Monica, or Phoebe.
Speaking of nostalgic makeup collections, ColourPop also has one in store. Their collaboration with Disney continues in the form of the Lizzie McGuire line. This makeup drop is truly what dreams are made of and it perfectly captures the essence of the beloved Disney heroine.
Unlike the previous two brands, Ulta Beauty took a more modern approach to their most recent TV-themed makeup collaboration. They launched a line of products inspired by Marvel’s hit new show WandaVision, featuring a line of products that you can use to channel your inner Scarlet Witch.

]]>Marvel shows will be one of the staples of the future programming of the streaming service Disney+. They already gave us two great shows with WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and they have a few more coming out by the end of the year.
Tom Hiddleston will return to the role of God of Mischief in this highly-anticipated series that traces Loki’s whereabouts after he stole the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame.
This promising animated series will explore what would happen if pivotal moments that shaped the Marvel Cinematic Universe happened differently, completely changing the way we see them.
Hawkeye is coming our way later this year, and it will show Clint Barton’s protégée Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld, training to take over the mantle of Hawkeye.
Ms. Marvel will see the total newcomer Iman Vellani take the role of a superhero-obsessed New Jersey teen Kamala Khan who suddenly discovers that she has shape-shifting powers.

]]>Disney+ is yet to give us their very first Marvel show, but that’s not stopping them from plotting new ones. In the last few weeks, this streaming service shared a couple of exciting news about their MCU lineup and announced several brand new shows that we didn’t see coming.
She-Hulk was one of the Disney+ shows that Marvel teased back in 2019, but this project finally started looking more tangible once they’ve cast the lead actress. Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany was cast in the role of Bruce Banner’s cousin, who gains similar superpowers after receiving a blood transfusion from him.
Shortly after Maslany joined the MCU, Disney+ plus announced they’re plotting another series with a beloved Marvel veteran at the helm. Samuel L. Jackson is expected to reprise the role of Nick Fury in the untitled series about the founder of the Avengers.
These aren’t the only exciting news from the Marvel front. The first trailer for WandaVision premiered at the Emmys and quickly received millions of views. Production on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier also resumed in September, so it seems that Disney+ will finally give us at least two new Marvel shows to watch this winter.
