The acclaimed actor John Lithgow, who won six Emmy Awards for his roles in The Crown, Dexter, and 3rd Rock from the Sun, will be in charge of portraying Albus Dumbledore.
Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall
The new HBO series will also star Janet McTeer, whose filmography includes two Oscar-nominated roles in Tumbleweeds and Albert Nobbs, plus TV shows Damages, The White Queen, Jessica Jones, and Ozark.
Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape
Paapa Essiedu, whose filmography includes TV shows I May Destroy You, Gangs of London, The Lazarus Project, and Black Mirror, joined the cast in the role of Severus Snape.
Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid
Rubeus Hagrid will be portrayed by one of the most beloved British comedians, Nick Frost, best known for his roles in Edgar Wright’s Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End opposite Simon Pegg.

Plot Details
The next season of Bridgerton will be based on Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer From a Gentleman, and here’s what it has in store, according to Netflix’s official logline:
“The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict. Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
Casting News
Luke Thompson will return as Benedict Bridgerton in Season 2, and Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Claudia Jessie, Nicola Coughlin, Luke Newton, Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, Ruth Gemmell, and Hannah Dodd will most likely also reprise their roles.
Yerin Ha is the latest addition to the cast as Sophie Beckett aka Lady in Silver, Benedict’s love interest. She’s the illegitimate daughter of a maid and an earl, who never officially acknowledged her as his child.
Release Date
Season 4 of Bridgerton doesn’t have an official release date, and you should arm yourself with patience while waiting for its return. Showrunner Jess Brownell told The Hollywood Reporter that Season 4 will take two years two making between writing, editing, dubbing, and eight months of shooting.

HBO recently announced they’re temporarily putting the show’s third season on hold, but added they remain committed to making an exceptional third season. The creator Sam Levinson is one of the culprits behind the delay, with several publications reporting that the scripts for Season 3 aren’t finished yet.
Cast’s Busy Schedules
Since Euphoria first premiered in 2019, some of its stars became one of the most sought-after young actors in Hollywood. Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney all have several high-profile projects on the way, so it’s not a shocker to see HBO announcing they’re allowing them to pursue other opportunities in the interim.
No Production Date in Sight
Euphoria cast shared several hints about potential filming plans for Season 3 in recent months, but they’ve all fallen apart. There’s no firm production start date for the next season, but it will most likely start within the next couple of months.
Still Eying 2025 Release Date?
Despite another production delay, HBO is still hoping they’ll be able to bring Euphoria back in 2025. This is quite a long break given the high-school ages of the characters, but it’s worth noting that the wait between the first two seasons was just as long due to the pandemic.
