Outdoor Fitness is Booming and it’s Here to Stay

After a year of quarantine and social distancing, gyms and fitness centers are finally open and we’re getting ready to get back into our routine. Even though many fitness enthusiasts waited for this to happen, it seems like most people are more likely to take their workouts outside this year.

The pandemic has changed our lifestyle and showed us that exercising outside of our gyms is not only possible, it’s actually very convenient and more fun. If we also consider the fact that people miss spending time outside after the lockdown, the sudden boom of outdoor fitness shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Benefits

Working out outside is great for both your physical and mental health. Spending more time in nature is the perfect opportunity to get some fresh air, absorb more vitamin D and boost the immune system. Exercising in natural environments can also lead to reduced stress and anxiety and it can boost your self-esteem.

Types of Activity

Lucky for us summer is here, and this is the ideal time to take your workouts outside and try different sports that you otherwise wouldn’t. Cycling, running, hiking, or walking are probably the most popular outdoor activities, but you can also use this summer to try surfing, kayaking, rock climbing, and other exciting summer sports.
