]]>The American Music Awards came back to Los Angeles last weekend, and the red carpet at this award show didn’t look as colorful as we’re used to. Long, black dresses were ruling the red carpet this time around, and here are five stars that opted for this look.
Cardi B switched things up while hosting this year’s AMA’s, but decided to paint it black with her first look. She hit the red carpet in a Schiaparelli gown with a sheer veil, and made her look even more dramatic with a golden mask, nails, and earrings.
Bailey also couldn’t resist hitting the carpet in a long, black gown, but her velvet Monsoori number had just enough edge thanks to its daring cutouts and thigh-high slit.
Speaking of black cutout dresses, the Outer Banks actress also embraced this trend. She paired her Mônot dress with long, leather gloves.
Siwa looked positively radiant at the AMAs red carpet in a long off-the-shoulder tulle gown with a sheer, ruffled skirt.
Underwood hit the AMAs stage alongside fellow country star Jason Aldean, and wore a stunning long-sleeve black gown with a ruffled skirt and a statement belt for the occasion.

]]>Red carpets at music award shows happen to be pretty wild—especially the ones dedicated to country music. The latest CMT Awards were a case in point, and here are five looks that stole the show at this ceremony.
No country award show can go without Carrie Underwood, and she gave us two memorable looks at CMT Awards—a mellow yellow mini dress on the red carpet and a glittery white suit during her live performance.
Speaking of mellow yellow dresses, Guyton also gave this trend her seal of approval in a simple, yet classy Brandon Maxwell gown.
Ballerini channeled her inner Barbie doll in a hot pink head-to-toe outfit by LaQuan Smith, and finished the look with trendy side braids.
Two-piece and three-piece ensembles will be showing up all over the place this summer, and Carly Pearce brought this trend to the CMT Awards red carpet.
H.E.R. really knows how to make an impression at each red carpet event she attends. She did it once again at the CMT Awards, where she showed up in a little black dress by Valentino that featured a sheer top with cutout details.

]]>Latin music has been on the rise for a couple of years now, and it’s not going away anytime soon. Even artists who aren’t fluent in Spanish are trying to sing in this language, and they gave us a couple of pretty great songs along the way.
Billie Eilish’s collaboration with Rosalía has been a long time coming, but it was worth the wait. “Lo Vas A Olvidar” is one of the most moving songs you’ll hear all day, and Eilish’s attempt to sing in Spanish is pretty impressive despite the fact she doesn’t speak it fluently.
Selena Gomez is no stranger to singing in Spanish, but there’s something that sets her new song “De Una Vez” apart. It’s her very first Spanish-language single, and it does a perfect job paying homage to her Latin roots through its dreamy music video.
Carrie Underwood ended 2020 on a high note—by joining forces with Spanish singer David Bisbal and recording an emotional new song “Tears of Gold”. It’s the country star’s first bilingual Spanish song, and she’s shown “a profound admiration” for this language according to Bisbal.

]]>If you’ve been paying close attention to the Billboard 200 chart over the years, you’ve noticed that Christmas albums tend to rule it come the holiday season. 2020 is no different, but things feel extra-special right now since half of the records in the top ten this week happen to be holiday albums.
A Christmas album is yet to reach the no. 1 spot, which is usually reserved for new releases, such as Shawn Mendes’ Wonder or Bad Bunny’s El Ultimo Tour del Mundo. This week’s top ten is still composed of five holiday-efforts, which hasn’t happened since 2013.
Michael Bublé’s former no. 1 album Christmas made it to no. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, and it was closely followed by Carrie Underwood’s My Gift at no. 5, Nat King Cole’s The Christmas Song at no. 7, Pentatonix’s The Best of Pentatonix Christmas at no. 8 and Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas at no. 10.
To make the whole thing even more festive, the Christmas spirit has also overtaken the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” made its way back to the no. 1 spot, and it also topped the Billboard Global 200 chart.

Mariah Carey is the unofficial queen of Christmas, so it’s not surprising that she gave us the best holiday special of 2020. It features her take on some of the most beloved holiday tunes and celebrity cameos from the likes of Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson.
This holiday season is pretty magical for Dolly Parton. In addition to appearing in her own Christmas special A Holly Dolly Christmas, alongside Michael Bublé, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Miley Cyrus, she also fronted the Netflix musical Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square.
Carrie Underwood’s first Christmas album My Gift hit the shelves earlier this fall and she came up with a perfect way to bring it back into our lives this holiday season. The country star fronted an HBO Christmas special that features the songs from her latest album.
