]]>BTS has such a passionate fan base that we can count on each new song they share with the world to shatter records and top the charts. That was centrally the case this year because the K-pop group gave us not one, not two, but three chart-topping singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
BTS kicked off their chart domination in May when they dropped their summer anthem “Butter”. It easily debuted at no. 1 and went on to spend 10 non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the longest-running no. 1 hit of 2021.
“Butter” wasn’t BTS’s only candidate for the song of the summer. In the middle of its chart domination, they dropped another catchy track—”Permission to Dance”. It also debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, but only spent one week at no.1 before “Butter” continued its reign.
Summer may be behind us, but BTS’s chart domination is far from over. They returned to no. 1 with the Coldplay collaboration “My Universe”, set to be featured on the British band’s upcoming album Music of the Spheres. This became the first song by two co-billed lead groups to ever top the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

]]>October is here and music lovers should be pumped about it. This month is bringing many amazing new albums our way, and here are five that we’re looking forward to the most.
The second collaborative album between Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett follows Bennett’s announcement he’s retiring from performing and it’s a true treat for fans of jazz music.
Coldplay teased their ninth studio album with the lead single “Higher Power” and BTS collaboration “My Universe”, and we can’t wait to see what else they have in store.
Del Rey already dropped her seventh studio album Chemtrails over the Country Club this spring, and it took her just seven months to share its follow-up with the world.
Elton John teased this album with “Cold Heart” featuring Dua Lipa and “After All” featuring Charlie Puth—but that’s just the beginning. His latest collaborative album will also feature the likes of Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, Stevie Wonder, Nicki Minaj, and many more.
Ed Sheeran’s upcoming album already produced hit singles “Bad Habits” and “Shivers” and it’s definitely the most anticipated new record coming our way this October.

]]>This year’s edition of Global Citizen Live gave us epic performances by Lizzo, Jennifer Lopez, and Doja Cat, but if we had to pick a single act that stole the show, it would be Coldplay. Chris Martin and co. delivered some amazing performances throughout the show—and they didn’t do it all alone.
Coldplay’s most talked-about performance at Global Citizen Live saw them joining forces with K-pop band BTS. Unlike most other songs that Coldplay performed at this live show, “My Universe” is a brand-new single, set to be featured on their upcoming album Music of the Spheres.
Cabello and Mendes both hit the stage at Global Citizen Live on their own, but they didn’t end things there. They also joined Coldplay halfway through the performance of their smash hit “Yellow” and somehow managed to make this song even better.
Billie Eilish was one of the stars taking part in this 24-hour live musical event, but performing on her own just wasn’t enough for her. She joined forces with Coldplay for a special performance of their hit song “Fix You”, and her brother Finneas was right there by her side.
