BTS has such a passionate fan base that we can count on each new song they share with the world to shatter records and top the charts. That was centrally the case this year because the K-pop group gave us not one, not two, but three chart-topping singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“Butter”

BTS kicked off their chart domination in May when they dropped their summer anthem “Butter”. It easily debuted at no. 1 and went on to spend 10 non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the longest-running no. 1 hit of 2021.

“Permission to Dance”

“Butter” wasn’t BTS’s only candidate for the song of the summer. In the middle of its chart domination, they dropped another catchy track—”Permission to Dance”. It also debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, but only spent one week at no.1 before “Butter” continued its reign.

“My Universe” ft. Coldplay

Summer may be behind us, but BTS’s chart domination is far from over. They returned to no. 1 with the Coldplay collaboration “My Universe”, set to be featured on the British band’s upcoming album Music of the Spheres. This became the first song by two co-billed lead groups to ever top the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
