It’s clear that we won’t get to travel and enjoy the holiday season in the same way we’re used to. One of the most wonderful things about Christmas in Europe is that virtually every city holds a magical Christmas market, and the markets are the most beautiful in big cities like Vienna and Prague. What will things be like this year?
Vienna’s Christas market is scheduled to happen from November 13th to December 26. The organizers are currently trying to make sure all the safety measures can be followed, which means there won’t be any indoor activities and the number of stands and visitors will be smaller.
Some German cities like Köln have canceled their Christmas markets, while others are still hoping to have them. One thing is sure—Christmas markets will look and feel a lot different than in the past years.

Masks have quickly evolved and now we have a great selection to choose from, including some fashionable masks that can match even the most beautiful special occasion outfits. One mask accessory appeared and became popular because it looks good and has a practical value.
The mask chain is very similar to the sunglass chain. Its purpose is to keep your mask around your neck when you’re not wearing it so you don’t misplace or forget it before heading out. And just like the masks come in many different designs, so do the chains. From simple ones to the embellished ones that can replace your jewelry, you won’t be able to stop at just one.
At those times when you need to put the mask down, having it hang on a chain around your neck is much better than putting it down on a counter or shoving it in your bag with everything else you keep there. It’s arguably safer, plus you won’t spend ages trying to dig it up to put over your mouth again.
Are you wearing your masks on a chain yet?

Now that summer’s almost over, reality TV competitions are beginning to return, but with detailed health and safety protocols. Shows have switched filming locations, adjusted formats, changed contestants, or shortened seasons during the pandemic. These are just a few of the reality TV shows that have continued production or are set to air in the next month or so.
Big Brother usually airs in July, but this year the premiere was set back to August 5, and casting wasn’t revealed until the show’s premiere night. This season is All-Stars and the contestants were isolated and tested ahead of the season opener and the live shows have no studio audience.
This summer competition show was in the middle of auditions before being shut down in March. The remaining auditions were held without an audience and production returned in June outdoors with socially distanced and abbreviated Judge Cuts rounds. The live shows are held at the Universal Studios lot, instead of Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.
Scheduled to premiere in May, the new season aired August 24 with shooting in Las Vegas instead of in Fiji. Contestants were quarantined and tested before arriving at The Cromwell hotel.
After announcing that co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews wouldn’t be returning for the upcoming season and replacing them with Tyra Banks, the competition show has been set for a September 14 premiere date. The pro dancers have already been announced, but the celebrity cast will be announced at a later date. Details about the format haven’t been released yet and it’s unclear if the show will air live.
Shark Tank is another reality TV show that will be moving to Las Vegas for Season 12. There hasn’t been a premiere date announced yet, but filming has started.

Last Sunday, the idea for hanging Christmas lights was posted by sports broadcaster Lane Grindle on his Twitter page, “What if we all put our Christmas lights back up,” he posed to his followers. “Then we could get in the car and drive around and look at them. That seems like a fair social distancing activity.”
But, he wasn’t the only one with the festive idea—Mike Griffon, a resident of Rhode Island shared on Monday that his 10-year-old son had the same idea as a way to bring positivity and decrease boredom during social isolation. “Lights are on tonight as a sign of hope and the sweet mind of my 10 year old,” Griffin said.
Here are some more posts from people who are just trying to spread Christmas cheer during these difficult times.

Among them is Kevin Bacon, who started the #IStayHomeFor challenge, which allows others to say why they choose to self-isolate during these times.
Bacon’s reason was his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, who’s the actor has been married to for 31 years.
In the Instagram post, Bacon says the following, “Hi folks, you know me. I’m technically only six degrees away from you,” Bacon quipped in the Instagram clip, referencing the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game. “Right now, like people around the world, I’m staying home because it saves lives and it is the only way we’re going to slow down the spread of this coronavirus. Because the contact that you make with someone who makes contact with someone else that may be what makes somebody’s mom or grandpa or wife sick. Every one of us has someone who’s worth staying home for.”
Other celebrities have risen the challenge with Demi Lovato posting a photo holding up the sign, “#IStayHomeFor my parents, my neighbors, my health.” She tagged fellow stars Arianna Grande, Miley Cyrus, Bebe Rexha, Ashley Graham, Ruby Rose, and ALOK to do the same.
David Beckham, who was challenged by Kevin Bacon, post reads, “I’m staying at home for Victoria and our kids, including Cruzie who’s made his way into this photo
” Let’s stop the coronavirus spread together
”
Millie Bobby Brown wrote, “I’m staying at home for these people because they are my everything♡ my beautiful nan, she protected me my whole life. now it’s time for me to protect her. keep positive. xx.”

Around the world, people have been placed in mandatory quarantine or are social distancing to keep themselves safe during this uncertain time. Self-isolating and social distancing can get extremely lonely and depressing for people who are used to socializing and connecting with others.
But people in Japan have found a way to make the best out of the situation we’re in and it involves using technology and alcohol.
On-nomi, which means online drinking in Japanese, has groups of people logging into video chats while drinking their own booze to meet new people and have some form of social contact. It’s basically a virtual happy hour!
The most popular video platform being used is Zoom, which allows anyone to join and create their own bar-like setting. People are toasting beers to the camera and sharing their concerns about the virus.
Who knows how long we’ll be stuck at home from the Coronavirus, and with countries taking stricter measures to keep us safe, it’s important to find ways to be creative and find new ways to connect with people.
