People are Hanging Up Christmas Lights to Bring Holiday Magic During Social Distancing

Some people are bringing the joy of the holiday season by hanging up Christmas lights during these tough times. Worldwide, people have been engaging in social distancing and self-quarantining to slow down the spread of the coronavirus.

Last Sunday, the idea for hanging Christmas lights was posted by sports broadcaster Lane Grindle on his Twitter page, “What if we all put our Christmas lights back up,” he posed to his followers. “Then we could get in the car and drive around and look at them. That seems like a fair social distancing activity.”

But, he wasn’t the only one with the festive idea—Mike Griffon, a resident of Rhode Island shared on Monday that his 10-year-old son had the same idea as a way to bring positivity and decrease boredom during social isolation. “Lights are on tonight as a sign of hope and the sweet mind of my 10 year old,” Griffin said.
