After a lot of anticipation, Drake’s latest studio album For All the Dogs finally hit the shelves this month, and it made quite a splash on the charts around the world. Drake topped both the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 charts in the US this week, and here are all the major milestones he reached along the way.

Billboard 200

For All the Dogs debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart with 402,000 album-equivalent units earned, becoming Drake’s 13th No. 1 album to do so. This is quite an achievement since the Canadian rapper managed to break a tie with Taylor Swift to have the third-most No. 1s on the Billboard 200, behind The Beatles with 19 and Jay-Z with 14 No. 1 albums.

Billboard Hot 100

For All the Dogs made an even bigger impact on the Billboard Hot 100, with all of its 23 tracks debuting on the chart. By doing so, they brought Drake’s total to 320 entries, making him the first artist to ever chart over 300 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.

“First Person Shooter” ft. J. Cole debuted atop the chart, becoming Drake’s 13th Hot 100 leader. Drake tied Michael Jackson for most No. 1 hits among solo males, but he’s still behind Rihanna (14), Mariah Carey (19), and The Beatles (20).

AI-generated music is experiencing a huge boom these days, but not everyone seems to be a fan. From Drake to John Legend, several acclaimed artists spoke against the use of artificial intelligence in the music industry.

Several AI-generated Drake collaborations went viral in recent months, including a fake duet with The Weeknd “Heart On My Sleeve”. The Canadian rapper openly spoke against this trend, describing his fake collaboration with Ice Space as “the last straw”.

Ice Cube isn’t a huge fan of AI-generated songs, and he even went so far as to say it’s “demonic” to have someone take your original voice and manipulate it without having to pay.

John Legend

Sting recently told BBC that “the building blocks of music belong to us, to human beings”, adding that he anticipates musicians will face a battle against AI in upcoming years.

The Recording Academy is also taking a firm stance against AI, introducing the rule that says that “only human creators are eligible to be submitted for consideration for, nominated for, or win a Grammy Award” at the upcoming ceremony.
