Drake has a habit of setting new records every time he shares a new album with the world, and he did it once again with Certified Lover Boy. This album became a true viral sensation right after hitting the shelves on September 3rd, and here are several major records it broke since its release.

Streaming Records

Even before it made it to the Billboard charts, Certified Lover Boy became a huge hit on streaming platforms. It set new Apple Music and Spotify records for the largest streaming debut within a single day, breaking the record previously held by Drake’s own album Scorpion.

Billboard 200

Certified Lover Boy easily debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart, becoming Drake’s tenth album to do so. This makes Drake only one of eight artists to top this chart ten or more times. Certified Lover Boy also had the biggest debut of 2021, and the biggest opening week since Taylor Swift’s Folklore in 2020.

Billboard Hot 100

Songs from Certified Lover Boy also made a huge splash on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Drake became the first and only artist since The Beatles to dominate the entire top five in a single week. He’s also the only person to claim as many as nine(!!) of the top ten positions on the Billboard Hot 100 in a single frame, leading the way with “Way 2 Sexy” featuring Future and Young Thug at no. 1.
