]]>Dune gave us one of the most memorable cinematic experiences of 2021, and it was just a matter of time before its sequel was green-lit. That moment finally arrived, and here’s everything we know about the second chapter of this epic story.
Denis Villeneuve is coming back to direct the second Dune movie, and he’s bringing most of the cast with him—including Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, who’ll take on a bigger role in the second film.
Dune: Part Two will pick up where the first movie left off. It will cover the second part of Frank Herbert’s iconic novel, and it may even feature a major time jump if the movie closely follows the book.
Dune: Part Two is set to hit the theaters on October 20th, 2023. Unlike the first movie, it won’t get a day-and-date streaming release on HBO Max because Villeneuve insisted on an exclusive theatrical release.
Dune: Part Two may not be the last we see of this franchise. Villeneuve said he can imagine himself directing a third movie, based on Herbert’s second book in the series. HBO Max is also developing a spin-off series Dune: The Sisterhood.

]]>Even though Dune hasn’t been released yet, it’s already getting tons of buzz. Warner Bros. teamed up with Twitter as part of its larger marketing campaign for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune for a weeklong takeover of the @TwiiterMovies account to promote the film, which will be released in theaters and HBO Max on October 22. The takeover started on Monday and will go through the end of the week, with the account fully dedicated to Dune.
This is the first time Twitter has worked with a partner for a weeklong takeover of any company-owned account. The account’s profile features a Dune-themed avatar and header image. User tweets with the hashtag #DuneWeek will trigger a custom Twitter emoji. The takeover features fan Q&As with Villeneuve and the movie’s stars including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Oscar Issac, and Rebecca Ferguson. There are also videos with the cast discussing the film, memes, and emojis.
Twitter worked with the studio to create 12 custom Twitter emojis for the movie’s stars and their characters including #PaulAtreides, #Chani, #DukeLeto, and #LadyJessica.
“Audiences have been eagerly anticipating ‘Dune’ for well over a year, and Twitter has been the platform where they’ve congregated: fans of the book, fans of our exceptional talent and new fans of the franchise,” said Andrew Hotz, EVP, worldwide digital marketing and chief data scientist, Warner Bros.

]]>October is finally here and it’s bringing some pretty epic movies our way. If you can’t wait to hit theaters this fall, you’ll be happy to hear some of the year’s most anticipated blockbusters are set to premiere in the next few weeks, and here are three that you shouldn’t miss seeing on the big screen.
The first Venom movie was definitely bonkers, and its follow-up is promising an equally wild ride as Tom Hardy returns to the role of Eddie Brock and Woody Harrelson joins him as the psychotic serial killer Carnage.
The latest James Bond movie has been delayed more times than we can count, but it’s finally coming to theaters this fall. It received rave reviews following its world premiere in London, and it’s definitely worth a watch since it’s Daniel Craig’s final film as Agent 007.
Denis Villeneuve has proven himself as one of the modern masters of the sci-fi genre, and his take on Dune is the best one yet. This film will have a simultaneous release on HBO Max, but critics recommend watching it on the big screen since it’s a true visual feast that we haven’t seen in a long time.

]]>Another edition of the Toronto International Film Festival is behind us, and it introduced many new movies to the world. Some of them created quite a buzz, and here are three projects that premiered during this prestigious festival and got everyone talking.
Belfast will be one of the movies that this year’s TIFF will be remembered by because it walked away with the coveted People’s Choice Award. It follows a young boy growing up in 1960s Belfast, and its director Kenneth Branagh described it as his most personal movie yet.
Dear Evan Hansen served as TIFF’s opening movie, so it goes without saying it was one of the most talked-about projects of the entire event. Unfortunately, this project wasn’t as well-received as the Broadway musical it’s based on, but people haven’t stopped talking about it since it premiered so it’s definitely doing something right.
Many of TIFF’s biggest hits, including Last Night in Soho and Spencer, previously premiered in Venice, and that was also the case with Dune. This sci-fi epic still deserves a special mention, because its IMAX world premiere in Toronto has proven it has to be seen on the big screen. It also doesn’t hurt its case that Denis Villeneuve walked away as the winner of the director award.

]]>We haven’t seen Timothée Chalamet in any new movies since Little Women, but he’s gearing up for an epic comeback. He’ll appear in some of the most highly-anticipated movies of 2021 in the next few months, and here are three that you shouldn’t miss for the world.
Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s iconic novel Dune premiered in Venice to rave reviews. It will see Chalamet take on the role of Paul Atreides, the son of a noble family who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family.
Wes Anderson’s movies always boost a star-studded cast, and Chalamet is one of the newcomers joining the director’s frequent collaborators in The French Dispatch. This project follows three different storylines, centered on the final issue of an American magazine published in a fictional French city.
Speaking of movies with a star-studded cast, this one will see Chalamet join forces with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. It centers on two low-level astronomers, embarking on a giant media tour in an attempt to warn people of an approaching comet that could destroy planet Earth.

]]>We haven’t seen Oscar Isaac in any new movies ever since he ended his run as Poe Dameron in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but he’s ready for a comeback. Three of his upcoming projects premiered at the Venice Film Festival, and we’ll soon get to see them in theaters and on the small screen.
Following the success of First Reformed, Paul Schrader returned to Venice with another intriguing character study. The Card Counter sees Isaac take on the role of an ex-military interrogator turned gambler haunted by the ghosts of his past, and it was met with rave reviews in Venice.
Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is one of the most talked-about movies to premiere in Venice, and it was met with an eight-minute standing ovation following its opening. Isaac will play one of the key characters in this sci-fi epic—Duke Leto Atreides, who was bestowed with the stewardship of the dangerous desert planet Arrakis, also known as Dune.
The remake of Ingmar Bergman’s iconic series of the same name focuses on a contemporary American couple as their marriage slowly crumbles. Isaac and Jessica Chastain previously played a couple in A Most Violent Year, and this series will give them another chance to prove they’re a match made in heaven.
